In October 2015, members of the Montclair Rotary Club hosted a food drive at Kings Food Market on Valley Road Montclair. The Rotary was joined by members of local student groups. More than 250 bags of groceries were collected and cash donations topped $4800.
This project was done to support the Human Needs Food Pantry of Montclair which provides supplemental nutrition assistance to residents of Montclair. Glen Ridge, Verona, and surrounding communities. More than half of the clients of the Human Needs Pantry reside in Bloomfield, and include the elderly and disabled.
Moving forward, the friends of the Montclair Rotary will be joining members of the club and Taste of Montclair team to run volunteer food drives in Montclair and Bloomfield.
