6 Things You Never Knew About Montclair Rotary’s Taste Of Montclair

Taste of Montclair is the community’s largets food-centric charity event, but there are a lot of things you probably don’t know about Taste of Montclair.

100100% of ticket sales for Taste of Montclair go to the charities supported by the Montclair Rotary Club including the Human Needs Food Pantry of Montclair, HOMECorps, Succeed2Gether, and countless others.

100% of the food and beverage tastings at Taste of Montclair are donated by the restaurants and food crafters participating in this event.

Paper ticket are no longer used at Taste of Montclair. In 2015, only 39 of the more than 400 people attending bought paper tickets. This simple change to electronic tickets meant that about $250 of money pledged by our sponsors could now be directed to the charities we support instead of being used to put on the event.

Everyone involved Taste of Montclair, from publicity, to logistics, to graphic design, to printing is a volunteer. The only people who get “paid” are the hard working people at the Manor who set up, clean up, and make sure the event runs smoothly. In 2016, the Montclair Rotary Club took over the Manor for the entire day. (So yes, we still need the financial support of Sponsors Like You).

Taste of Montclair has never been held in Montclair. The first Taste of Montclair was held at The Grove in Cedar Grove. The next three Taste of Montclair events were held at the Center at Montclair State University. The Conference Center is located in Little Falls in Passaic County. Taste of Montclair has grown both in terms of participating restaurants and food crafters and attendees, so in 2016 Taste of Montclair moved to the Manor in West Orange where the Montclair Rotary Club held the largest Taste of Montclair EVER.
