ACLU’s Iris Bromberg will discuss open government from a citizen’s perspective.

As the Transparency Law Fellow, Iris advocates for open government in order to protect the democratic process and promote government accountability. She develops policy priorities, identifies opportunities to strengthen public access to information, educates New Jerseyans about their right to information, litigates, and assists staff in their efforts to obtain public information. At Rutgers School of Law – Newark, Iris was a Marsha Wenk Public Interest Fellow and a Phillip Levin Scholar of Academic Achievement and Public Service. She interned at the ACLU-NJ, New York Legal Assistance Group’s Immigration Protection Unit, New York Legal Assistance Group’s LGBT Law Project, Legal Services of New Jersey, and New Jersey Family Court. Additionally, she worked as a student attorney in both Rutgers’ Immigration Rights and Child Advocacy clinics. She served as the co-President of Rutgers’ LGBTQ Caucus.
